Good to know

Our living room is to the front and has a huge leather chaise sofa, log burner and smart TV. Games and puzzles for all ages are in the front window chest, and the collection of books throughout the house include guidebooks on local walks through the charming Cotswolds countryside. The kitchen is large, bright and modern with a range cooker, large fridge-freezer, washer/dryer and dining area. It is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, gadgets, and basics for cooking. The dining table extends to seat up to 8 people. To the rear of the house, we also have a lovely, bright conservatory with a dedicated desk space overlooking the patio area. The garden is semi-private, being shared with one neighbor, but otherwise fully walled and perfect for relaxing with a bottle of wine after a day of wandering the countryside. The property has excellent WiFi coverage with speeds averaging around 40mbps. Full central heating means you will be cosy during your stay.

Portland is a charming cottage, much larger than it looks in the photos. Located just off the main street, it has all the benefits of being able to walk to shops, cafes and restaurants, whilst being quite and peaceful. Even on a busy May weekend we were always to park just outside the cottage. We especially loved being able to relax in the conservatory, or lounge on the massive sofas in the living room, or eat around the dining table in the kitchen. We really felt at home, and made use of the huge chest full of games - Scrabble anyone? Burford is a brilliant base for exploring the Cotswolds. We spent days out at Bourton on the Water, Cheltenham, Kelmscott Manor, and even the Burford Garden Centre used up the best part of an enjoyable day.

The property is in the centre of Burford so parking can be an issue but we was lucky and managed to park opposite. We stayed at the property to attend a wedding nearby, the property was ideal as everything we needed was a short walk away to the High Street. The house itself is clean and there is everything you need inside we would consider returning if we was ever in the area again and needed somewhere to stop.

Great, characterful property in a great location. Great value for money as a place to explore the Cotswolds; or just a short weekend in Burford. Really clear instructions & communication. Would recommend.

The location was amazing! One minute walk to the high street but far enough away to not hear cars driving by in the night. The beds were very comfy and the house was spotless. One of the bedrooms had a lot of doll house furniture which was a hit with the kids (we brought our own Callico critters - there are no dolls, just furniture) + a lot of children’s books. That was the playroom! Highly recommend this property for families with kids. There are semi- steep steps going into the attic bedrooms (2) so might not be the best solution if you have mobility issues but if that is not an issue this is a perfect destination. We loved it.
